The Forbes panel on the new generation of international yacht design in Sardinia

The new generation of international yacht design professionals took center stage during the panel “Forbes Under 30: the new generation of international yacht design in Sardinia”, held during the third day of the Sardinia Boat Show 2026 in collaboration with Forbes Italia. The discussion was moderated by Alessandro Rossi, Director of Forbes Italia.

The panel focused on the experiences of young yacht design professionals and the career paths contributing to the renewal of the sector through creativity, innovation, and new design perspectives.

Among the speakers, Lorenzo Biancalana, Product Improvement Coordinator at Mangusta Yachts, reflected on what it means to work within a large family-owned group in a market now dominated by major international players, focusing on the challenges linked to growth and the evolution of the industry.

Davide Manca, CEO of Adara Yachts, retraced his professional journey, which began in the world of large ships before progressively moving toward luxury recreational boating, with the goal of transferring naval expertise and industrial know-how into the boutique yacht sector.

The panel also featured Fabio Peduzzi, Yacht Designer and finalist for Lürssen’s “Young Designer of the Year 2025”, originally from Olbia and raised in Gallura, who spoke about his personal and family connection with the sea and the path that led him to develop the REV Curiosity project.

Also taking part in the discussion was Luca Barattolo, designer and Exterior Designer at Nauta Yachts, who emphasized the value of working within a company characterized by highly diverse projects and clients, an experience that allows for the development of a broad and dynamic vision of the international nautical industry.

During the panel, participants also shared reflections and advice for young people looking to enter the world of boating and yacht design, highlighting the importance of creativity, technical preparation, and the ability to adapt within a constantly evolving industry.
