Heesen Project Setteesettanta: first look at the interiors
The first images of Project Setteesettanta’s interiors come a few months after the yacht was launched in July at Heesen Yachts in Oss, the Netherlands. They were released by Cristiano Gatto Design, which designed the interiors of the 57-metre full-custom superyacht. The studio also acted as Owner’s Representative on the project and worked closely with the owners and the shipyard throughout construction. Exterior design is by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects.
The yacht was conceived for owners with extensive experience at sea, and Gatto says that experience shaped the project. “Our objective was to translate that experience into spaces that feel entirely natural to them, with the right balance of privacy, comfort and functionality. Every decision, from the overall layout to the smallest detail, has been driven by the way they intend to use the yacht,” said the studio’s founder. For him, this is what full-custom design really means.
The interior concept is based on artistic craftsmanship. Each element has a functional or decorative role, but it is also treated as an artistic expression in its own right. The work follows Gatto’s sculptural approach and focuses on how material, light and form relate to each other, down to the smallest details. There are twenty doors, for example, each with its own design and references to artists or artistic movements. On some sculpted surfaces, light appears to come from within the material itself.
The entire upper deck belongs to the owners. The forward-facing master suite has 180-degree views and direct access to a private terrace of approximately 200 square metres, which can also be used as a touch-and-go helipad. According to the studio, this layout gives a level of privacy and independence more often found on significantly larger yachts.
On the main deck, large sliding doors open the dining area directly onto the aft terrace. The VIP suite is also on this deck, and there are four more guest cabins on the lower deck. An oval staircase connects all four decks.
Project Setteesettanta is built entirely in aluminium. She has an internal volume of approximately 920 GT, a draft of 2.3 metres and a Fast Displacement Hull Form. The design figures give a top speed of 18 knots and a transatlantic range of approximately 3,900 nautical miles at 12 knots.
