The growth of Sardinia’s nautical industry has gained national media attention. Il Sole 24 Ore has highlighted the latest export data, confirming the sector’s positive momentum and its strengthening position in international markets.
According to ICE-Istat data analysed by the Cipnes Gallura Research Centre, exports of boats and inflatable vessels reached €43.5 million in 2025, marking a 47% increase compared to 2024 and the highest value in recent years.
This result reflects a broader growth trend in the regional nautical industry. After €29.2 million in 2021 and €37.7 million in 2022, exports declined in 2023 (€27.3 million), followed by a recovery in 2024 (€29.6 million) and a significant increase in 2025.
Exports are increasingly diversified across international markets. The United States remains the leading destination (€7.8 million), followed by Libya (€6.6 million) and France (€5.7 million). Other key markets include the United Kingdom (€3.7 million), Albania (€2.9 million), and the United Arab Emirates (€2.1 million).
On the import side, total value reached €35.5 million in 2025, with France accounting for the largest share (€20.4 million), followed by the United Kingdom, Greece, and the United States. The trade balance remains positive at €17.7 million, confirming the sector’s competitiveness.
Coverage by a leading financial newspaper such as Il Sole 24 Ore further strengthens national recognition of Sardinia’s nautical industry, highlighting its growing role within the regional economy.
Within this framework, the Sardinia Boat Show, scheduled in Porto Rotondo, serves as a strategic platform for promotion, networking, and international outreach for the sector.
The record export level achieved in 2025, together with national media recognition, confirms the strengthening of the nautical industry within Sardinia’s economic structure and its future growth potential in global markets.
