Sardinia Boat Show: Sardinian boating at Cannes

The Sardinia Boat Show took part in the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025, one of the leading international events dedicated to recreational boating, strengthening Sardinia’s presence in a strategic context for the sector. The initiative, promoted in collaboration with Cipnes Gallura and the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, is part of the regional production chains promotion plan funded by the Department of Programming and the Department of Industry.

During the event, the President of Cipnes Gallura, Livio Fideli, presented data confirming the growth of Sardinia’s maritime economy, with an aggregate turnover of €644 million, positioning the boating sector as the third largest “industry” on the island. Shipbuilding, including production (€55 million) and refit (€68.2 million), accounts for a total of €123 million. Particularly noteworthy is the export growth to France, which increased from less than €1 million in 2022 to over €12 million in 2024.

President Livio Fideli, Vice President Antonio Loriga (Cipnes Gallura), and the Head of the Sardinia Boat Show, Angelo Colombo, visited the stands of Sardinian companies present—among them Novamarine, Maori, Sea Water, Sacs Tecnorib, Valdettaro, North Sardinia Sail, Sardinia Nautica Assistance, and the Rete dei Porti della Sardegna—strengthening institutional support for businesses engaged in international markets.

There were also numerous meetings with top executives from major global groups such as Azimut-Benetti, Sanlorenzo, and Ferretti Group, where discussions focused on prospects for industrial development, sustainability, and innovation, including the bio-methanol project launched with Sanlorenzo, which will be featured at the upcoming Genoa International Boat Show.

Within the institutional stand, the Sardinia Boat Show promoted editorial and audiovisual content, including the magazine “Amare” and an emotional video created by a young Sardinian content creator, highlighting the Island’s contemporary and productive identity.

Participation in the Cannes Yachting Festival represents a strategic milestone in the growth path of the Sardinia Boat Show, confirming its role as a reference platform for the internationalization of Sardinia’s boating sector and for strengthening the sea-related economic system.
