Sport, youth and local identity: boating at the heart of the discussion

During the closing day of the Sardinia Boat Show 2026, the talk “Sport: a driver for the development of the nautical sector and a resource for the local area” took place, moderated by Angelo Colombo, Organizational Manager of the Sardinia Boat Show.

The panel featured Francesca De Natale Sifola Galiani, Founder and President of Nox Oceani; Flavio Stochino, Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari and Faculty Advisor of the UniCa Sailing Team; Corrado Fara, President of the FIV III Zone Committee – Sardinia; and Gianfranco Bacchi, General Manager of NSS Group.

During the discussion, speakers explored the role of sport as a tool for territorial promotion, youth education, the growth of maritime culture, and the development of the nautical sector, with particular attention to the connections between sporting activities, sustainability, and the enhancement of Sardinia’s regional blue economy.
